The implementation of using bells and sound to mark an event or time has always been a part of history. Before there was electricity in the world, the minute repeater enables the user to tell the time in the dark. In 2012, Patek Philippe released the minute repeating perpetual calendar ref. 5213G. The combination of a minute repeater function and perpetual calendar is a feature seen in previous Patek Philippe references such as the ref. 5074 and 5016.
