Full-Cataloguing
Initially launched in 1958, the Eterna Kontiki was one of the most important models released by the firm to commemorate the great voyage of the “Kon-Tiki” expedition from Peru to Polynesia. In 1960, the firm launched the Super Kontiki, an upgraded model from its very first example with an enhanced dive-focus design featuring a larger 40mm diameter case and a depth rating of 600 feet below sea level.
The present Eterna Super-Kontiki belongs to one of the later series ref. 130 FTP-4 from the late 1960s. Preserved in excellent condition, the present timepiece was most probably only worn a handful of times. Boasting a nice and clean case with a flawless dial that has aged harmoniously over the years is a superb example of the firm’s flagship model. Fitted with its original Gay Frères bracelet, the present timepiece is simply a stunning example fit for discerned collectors of diver’s wristwatches.
