Patek Philippe

Ref. 5066

Aquanaut

A fine and rare yellow gold wristwatch with center seconds and date

Released in 1997, the Patek Philippe ref. 5060 was the firm’s very first Aquanaut model introduced, as well as the first Patek Philippe wristwatch fitted with a rubber strap. It is believed that the ref. 5060 was produced in limited quantities estimated at 1,000 examples for both stainless steel and yellow gold examples. However, Patek Philippe released the ref. 5065 the following year with a larger case size and a sapphire caseback. Released around the same time was the ref. 5066 in both stainless steel and yellow gold with a case dimension exactly the same as the ref. 5060 measuring 35.6mm diameter, however with a sapphire caseback.

The present example Patek Philippe Aquanaut ref. 5066 from 1998 is delivered with an Extract from the Archives issued by Patek Philippe confirming the production of the present timepiece with its corresponding case and movement numbers. With a growing demand for Patek Philippe sports watches, the present early example will surely delight both the discerned lady and gentlemen collector of fine timepieces.
