Strongly influenced by Austrian expressionism and 20th century artists such as Francis Bacon and Egon Schiele, Aisha Rosli’s artistic practice focuses on figurative painting. Interrogating themes such as solitude, desire and concealment, she also explores female identity and gender relations in her artworks. In this piece, Rosli depicts a woman who sits alone, seemingly caught up in an internal conversation with herself. Her serene face is a melancholy shade of blue and she contemplates her own recurring thoughts that have been blown away by life’s other plans for her.

Rosli's talent was recognised early in her life when she was awarded the second prize in the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) Fine Art Graduating Awards Competition. Since her graduation in 2018, she has made a name for herself in the Singapore contemporary art scene. She presented her first solo show in 2021 at the Cuturi Gallery in Singapore.
