Phillips is dedicated to helping our clients in all aspects of collecting. In addition to providing selling and buying opportunities through auction, we broker private sales, offer assistance with appraisals, valuations and other financial services.
For information about private sales at Phillips, please visit our private sales department.
Phillips offers appraisals for estate and gift tax, charitable donation, insurance, estate and financial planning purposes. If necessary, preliminary evaluations can be made from photographs accompanied by detailed descriptions of each piece. We can then advise concerning the value of the property and suggest the best means for its formal appraisal or sale. If our clients are considering selling, we are pleased to provide auction estimates accompanied by a proposal for sale and a marketing plan to maximize the value of salable assets.
Phillips offers a variety of financial services including advances against future sale proceeds and guarantees of minimum price on works of art intended for sale.
Phillips has developed strong relationships with the world’s most important museums and is committed to the preservation and continued success of museum and institutional collecting. Recently, we have been honored to work with the following museums and their supporting organizations: The Israel Museum, Art Institute of Chicago, Aspen Art Museum, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, El Museo del Barrio, LACMA, Museum of Arts and Design, Museum of Fine Arts Houston, MoMA, Palm Springs Art Museum, Parrish Art Musuem, Seattle Art Museum, Guggenheim Museum, and Walker Art Center amongst others.
