  • Catalogue Essay

The modern re-edition of one of Rolex's most technical timepieces, the new Milgauss enjoyed outstanding success with the public. The most obvious connection to the vintage model is the lightning-shaped seconds hand, visually synonymous with the model. The present specimen is a blacked-out version of the celebrated reference 116400GV, characterized by the green tinted crystal. The surprising harmony that is established between the orange details of the dial and the green crystal is furthermore amplified by the black PVD coating, creating a remarkable aesthetic impact.
