Designed in 1949 and executed in 1961, the present writing desk exudes sophistication, blending the sumptuous warmth of Sapele mahogany, the tactile luxury of leather, and the radiance of brass. This refined design is a practical and superb piece, comprising three graceful small drawers and two larger drawers with brass handles below the partially leather-clad writing surface. It is also accompanied by two original handmade keys. The desk’s proportions and precise joinery reveal both the designer and maker’s unwavering commitment to design excellence.
