A fine, attractive and rare two-tone tantalum and stainless steel dual-time wristwatch with power reserve indication, date, bracelet and presentation box

Since the launch of the original Royal Oak in the early 1970s, the model has gained much fame due to its timeless design, array of complications and its vibrant use of materials. One of which, is this present ref. 257330TT dual-time model with a 36mm diameter case. Handsome, unusual and robust, the all grey appeal is completed with the use of tantalum and stainless steel to create the perfect monochromatic contrast.

Rarely ever used in watchmaking, the model is cased in bi-metal tantalum and stainless steel— an expensive material traditionally used in the medical and aerospace fields — are known to be notoriously hard to work with but provides a high resistant from corrosion with extreme durability. Once incorporated into the present timepiece, the result is simply sublime matched perfectly with its petite tapisserie grey dial indicating its additional time zone at 6 o’clock, power reserve at 9 o’clock and its date at 3 o’clock.

Presented in excellent overall condition, the present example numbered 90 on the caseback is offered with an Audemars Piguet extract confirming the production of the present example in 1998 in its exact configuration with its corresponding case and movement numbers.
