"The exhibitions Re-Object and Mythos were dedicated to two essential sources of today's artistic practice, the object and the myth. For Re-Object selected works by Marcel Duchamp represented the thematic base. As the father of the Ready-made he was extremely influential to the artistic strategies of Jeff Koons, Damien Hirst, and Gerhard Merz. In the exhibition Mythos it was Joseph Beuys with his work who assumed that role for work statements by Mathew Barney, Douglas Gordon, and Cy Twombly. The portfolio was published to celebrate these two exhibitions."
