The present watch is yet another lovely cloisonné enamel timepiece illustrating one of the most known birds in America, the common raven.

Vacheron Constant appointed the best enamellists in today’s world to work on the series. Proudly dominating the canvas of this timepiece is the incredibly intelligent songbird. Vividly sculpted by gold wires, the intricate work from the enameller brought the raven to life as it is about to take flight off a scenery of bright greens and golden berries. Elegantly dictating time with equally sophisticated round golden markers, the dial boasts an attractive rich cream hue that perfectly complements its rigid yellow gold case that has developed a nice thin patina.

Opening the hinged caseback by pressing the button reveals the highly decorated cal. 1120/2, fitting with a skeletonized self-winding rotor engraved featuring a hallowed out Maltese Cross and hand-engraved details all over.

Presented in its original accessories with its factory sticker on the caseback still intact, this is an exquisite, extremely well-preserved timepiece that is rarely seen on the market. In fact, this is the second time Phillips is offering an Audubon Common Raven watch. This beautiful piece has been stored in the original owner’s safe since its purchase in the 1990s and is now waiting for the next serious collector to bring it home.

Vacheron Constantin

Swiss | 1755

The world's oldest watch brand in continuous operation since its founding in 1755, Vacheron Constantin was the first watch company to manufacture movements with interchangeable parts beginning in 1839. Vacheron's watches are admired for their Latin-influenced case designs, well-balanced proportions and exquisitely finished movements of the highest quality. The Geneva-based manufacturer is known for their highly complicated masterpieces, including the King Farouk Grand Complication made in 1935, the Tour de l'Ile that was the most complicated serially produced wristwatch when introduced in 2005 and the 57260 — the world’s most complicated watch — made in 2015.

Key vintage models include minute repeating wristwatches such as the references 4261, chronographs such as the references 4178 and 6087 and the oversized Cioccolotone models such as ref. 4737. Collectors also appreciate Vacheron's Chronometer Royal pocket and wristwatches, as well as the '222,' the brand's first luxury sports watch produced from 1977 through 1984.
