  • While the large, glittering multicolored semi-transparent opal was reminiscent of Cinderella’s glass shoes, the scintillation of this magnificent stone reminded Stewart of the pumpkin that became Cinderella's glass carriage. Stewart Young's new fairy tale collections are mostly inspired by Disney cartoons, many of which consist of animal characters and whimsical objects from the various stories. This brooch retains many details from the cartoon such as a mouse holding ruby-set ribbons and an oscillating high heel at the back. The piece is further enhanced with an ornate window frame showing a hazy effect at the front of the cabochon opal. The wearer of this brooch will undoubtedly be the Belle of the Ball, as this masterpiece is truly a wonderful piece of jewelry you cannot find elsewhere.
