PhillipsX is pleased to present The Age of Energy, a solo exhibition of new works by Sassan Behnam-Bakhtiar with the support of Setareh, curated by Kamiar Maleki. This new body of work develops themes from an earlier text by the artist about alienation, disconnection and spiritual displacement, and the healing power of energy to ultimately reconnect us to ourselves and the world around us. 

Sassan Behnam-Bakhtiar, b. 1984, is an Iranian-French multidisciplinary artist whose work is well-known for exploring his visionary and philosophical views on life and the cultural status quo, derived from the artist’s personal life experience of post-revolution Iran, including the Iran-Iraq war, a traumatic period in the history of the country; and his subsequent reflections on these experiences while living in France and elsewhere. 

Sassan is currently based in the South of France where he continues to pursue his chosen disciplines.
