Based on the Lemania 2310, the present Roger Dubuis single-button chronograph is an early example that has a stylistic flair where inspiration was drawn from classic Patek Philippe chronograph references. During the time when Roger Dubuis worked for Patek Philippe's complications department, he was able to witness and work on some of the most complicated models before embarking on his own workshop and brand in 1995.
Hommage Monoupusher H40 was originally made in a series of 28 examples, and very few examples of monopushers has resurfaced since its launch. The H40 is a sight to behold and displays incredible details. The movement proudly displays the Poincon de Geneve which is also known as the Geneva seal and the movements were also certified by the Besançon Observatory. An exceptional feat for a small-at-the-time independent watchmaker, no details were left out.
The dial combination itself is beautiful with two chronographic registers, a matte black dial with applied Breguet numerals and feuille shaped hands complimenting the dial further. It is reminiscent of the vintage chronographs of the past while displaying its own aesthetical character.
The present lot is accompanied by its full set of accessories, including its additional solid case back, Besancon Chronometer certificate, Roger Dubuis certificate and presentation box.
