The Piaget Galaxy reference 80322 is the kind of watch that sits somewhere between high jewelry and horology. Its design is completely dominated by the baguette-cut diamonds, which extend across the case and integrated bracelet in seven rows, creating a continuous surface of light around the wrist.

The scale of the setting is what makes the watch particularly impressive. The case and bracelet contain 316 baguette-cut diamonds, with a total weight of approximately 41.9 carats, while a further 20 baguette-cut diamonds adorn the dial. The stones are carefully arranged in straight rows, giving the watch a strong geometric quality while allowing the brilliance of the diamonds to remain the main focus.

The yellow gold case and bracelet are designed as one continuous form, with the gold largely disappearing beneath the extensive diamond setting. Measuring 26mm wide, the watch has elegant proportions, but its presence comes from the sheer scale and quality of the gem-setting rather than its size.

The present reference 80322, case no. 506,773, is a spectacular example of Piaget's high-jewelry watchmaking. Accompanied by its Piaget certificate of authenticity and presentation box, this example will be highly sought-after.

Piaget

Swiss | 1874

Creativity, audacity and know-how are the values that gave Piaget its international reputation and allowed the brand to distinguish itself in the world of fine watchmaking and precision. Founder Georges Edouard Piaget established the company in 1874 and manufactured watch movements. While Piaget is famously recognized today for their elaborate wristwatch and bangle designs, they also mastered the marriage of their high-quality, in-house-produced wristwatches and stunning pieces of jewelry.

Collectors consider the 1970s as Piaget's era of superb creativity and unbounded designs. During this highly creative period, the brand designed an impressive range of cuff and bracelet watches carved in gold and adorned with exotic hard stones. Admired by most as not only jewelry but also true works of art, the firm's hard stone dial watches remain the most iconic, recognizable and desirable among collectors.
