Piaget is today one of the champions of watchmaking design and gem-setting. Undoubtedly, this is a reputation which was built in the second half of the past century, thanks to the incredible wealth of design and bejeweled creations which the brand issues.

One of the most notable references in this segment - the present 41541 - was apparently a canvas onto which the brand unleashed its unbridled creativity. The model was in fact part a collection named “Symphonie d’Or et de Pierres Precieuses”. Launched in 1981, it featured remarkable breadth: some variations present lozenge-shaped diamonds, others a diamond setting bordered by rubies, others again a checkered pattern fully set with diamonds, and so on. According to Piaget, while the reference 41541 denotes the case shape, the VXX addition following it on the caseback defines the style of the bracelet.

The present example is without a doubt one of the most attractive and exclusive of the line, as it employs square-cut emeralds, a gem notoriously difficult to set due to its being much more prone than other stones to breaking/cracking. Even notwithstanding the technical complexities involved in the setting, from a purely aesthetic point of view the alternation of the deep emerald green with the pure bright shine of the diamonds is nothing less than breathtaking.

A final touch will render this proposal absolutely irresistible: it is offered in extremely well-preserved condition, most likely unpolished, with all stones intact and no stretch to the links.

Piaget

Swiss | 1874

Creativity, audacity and know-how are the values that gave Piaget its international reputation and allowed the brand to distinguish itself in the world of fine watchmaking and precision. Founder Georges Edouard Piaget established the company in 1874 and manufactured watch movements. While Piaget is famously recognized today for their elaborate wristwatch and bangle designs, they also mastered the marriage of their high-quality, in-house-produced wristwatches and stunning pieces of jewelry.

Collectors consider the 1970s as Piaget's era of superb creativity and unbounded designs. During this highly creative period, the brand designed an impressive range of cuff and bracelet watches carved in gold and adorned with exotic hard stones. Admired by most as not only jewelry but also true works of art, the firm's hard stone dial watches remain the most iconic, recognizable and desirable among collectors.
