Big Dreamer is part of Patrick Rubinstein’s Collection series, which greatly contributed to the artist’s international success. In these works, Rubinstein pays tribute to the most renowned icons from the second half of the 20th century. Big Dreamer celebrates visionary co-founder of The Beatles, John Lennon. Through the use of bold colours and references to the art of Andy Warhol, Rubinstein summons the era of the 1960s with this artwork.

Rubinstein is inspired by Optical Art and Kinetic Art, genres that play with our perceptions of art. Often featuring major icons and celebrities from the second half of the 20th century, his art is made with innovative techniques that create a striking effect: the image, fixed at first, comes to life as the viewer observes it from different perspectives. The spectator is compelled to move around the work, glimpsing visual variations whilst still seeing a defined central image. His works offer a captivating visual experience and surprise us with every viewing.
