An extraordinary horological rarity, the present minute repeater pocket watch is, to the best of our knowledge, the only publicly known Patek Philippe minute repeating timepiece retailed by Cartier and bearing both manufacture and retailer signatures.
The silvered dial features applied yellow gold Breguet numerals, pearled minute track accents, a beautifully raised hard-enameled "Patek Philippe & Cie" signature and a crisp printed "Cartier" signature. In accordance with Cartier's historical retail practices, the watch features an official Cartier stock number stamped on the reverse of the pendant.
The movement is stamped with the "HOX" import mark, the US import code assigned to Patek Philippe and is accompanied by a US-standard 14K two-tone gold chain. Its origin is further underscored by its original fitted presentation box from the iconic Cartier Mansion at 653 Fifth Avenue, New York. When Cartier’s premier clientele sought high complications beyond the scope of European Watch & Clock Co., the maison sourced timepieces directly from top-tier manufactures like Patek Philippe, imbuing them with Cartier branding while preserving their mechanical integrity. Preserved in remarkable historical condition, this pocket watch stands as an exceptional intersection of Patek Philippe watchmaking and Cartier elegance.
