Michael Antrobus is inspired by materials and manufacturing processes. His approach to design is characterized by hands-on experimentation with materials and technique.      Antrobus earned a degree in Product and Furniture design from Kingston University in 2009 and currently works for a design and innovation company based in San Sebastian, Spain. Wallpaper* magazine selected Antrobus as one of the next wave of creative talents in their annual global graduate directory 2010.
Ground Objects features desk accessories made from pressed and twisted sections of Sheffield steel. Each of the objects follows the same logic; the steel lengths are first formed in a fly press, and then twisted to create a handle. A blade is sharpened onto one edge and the steel is plated before being riveted together.
