The present Galet Square "Kama Sutra" is number 3 of a highly exclusive edition of only 6 examples featuring a green dial. At first glance, the dial appears to display a finely textured surface; on closer inspection, however, it reveals a series of stylised illustrations inspired by the Kama Sutra, executed with wit and remarkable subtlety.

Since establishing his eponymous manufacture in 2010, Laurent Ferrier has become one of the leading figures of contemporary independent watchmaking. Drawing upon more than three decades at Patek Philippe, his creations are defined by technical refinement, exceptional finishing and an understated aesthetic rooted in classical watchmaking. Introduced in 2011, the Galet Micro-Rotor established the design language of the manufacture. Named after the smooth pebbles that inspired its profile, the collection is characterised by flowing lines, rounded forms and a remarkable sense of visual restraint.

The Galet Square reinterprets these principles in a more architectural form while preserving the signature pebble-inspired case construction and harmonious proportions. Beneath the dial lies the manufacture calibre LF229.01, finished entirely by hand, it features a solid gold micro-rotor mounted beneath its distinctive arched bridge, together with a double direct-impulse escapement inspired by Abraham-Louis Breguet's natural escapement, a sophisticated solution designed to maximise energy transmission while improving chronometric stability.

Preserved in excellent overall condition and accompanied by its full complement of original accessories, the present watch offers collectors the opportunity to acquire one of Laurent Ferrier's most unusual and elusive creations.

Laurent Ferrier

Swiss | 2008

Introducing its first watch to critical acclaim in 2010, Laurent Ferrier was founded by long-time Swiss watchmaker of the same name. Following a 37-year career at Patek Philippe, Ferrier founded the brand in 2008, creating timeless wristwatches inspired by the finest wrist and pocket watches from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Revered by collectors around the world for their genuine innovations and understated elegance, the brand specializes in exquisitely hand-finished movements featuring state-of-the-art watchmaking technology. Galet, or "pebble" in French, describes the signature feature of the brand's cases used across its collection — with soft curves, domed crystals and rounded edges reminding one of a smooth pebble.

Key models include the Galet Classic Tourbillon Double Spiral and the Galet Micro-Rotor, with stunning movement architectures designed after prestigious observatory chronometer movements of the twentieth century.
