Joseph Klibansky explores the borders between various media, trying to find an interaction between highly detailed computer designed objects and traditional hand-made bronze sculptures. For Klibansky, the use of modern day technology and state of the art machinery like 3D-printing and scanning, are an integral part of his poetic expressions. Through his work Klibansky tries to tell the story of a rapidly changing culture, where people are hot-wired into an ever-expanding digital highway of information and influences wherever they go.
“The high pace of 21st century life creates a kind of compression whereby we want to transfer our messages even quicker through the use of icons” Klibansky explains.
In his sculpture Elements of Life the entire life cycle is condensed in to just four icons that contain one’s pleasures, tragedies and all of life’s emotions in a single blink of an eye. “To portray one’s life in such a simple way is quite a confronting thing and demands a form of self reflection” Klibansky adds.

His sculptures are socially experimental and conceptual works that are mostly figurative in form.
