Indya Gokita celebrates the abundance of Filipino nature and spirit in this vibrant piece. Offering a portal into another realm, Gokita transports the viewer to a lush tropical landscape infused with rich sunlight, a light breeze and blossoming trees. Imploring us to open our windows and take in the pleasure of the natural world, she translates this environment into woven patterns, which depict the various colours and forms of the tropical jungle.

Gokita is a promising young artist within the Filipino contemporary art scene, and presented her first solo show at the West Gallery in Quezon City in 2021. A multidisciplinary artist, her practice encompasses drawings, prints and embroidered pieces, which feature recurring motifs, shapes and radiant colours.
