Specialising in oil painting, Ho Kah Leong is an amateur artist who has been active within the Singaporean art scene for more than six decades. In Morning Sun, Ho captures the charm and serenity of Malay kampongs using vivid colours and bold brushstrokes reminiscent of the Impressionist masters.

Renowned for his oil paintings as well as his Chinese calligraphy, Ho is also a former politician who served as a member of parliament for the Jurong constituency and as parliamentary secretary in various ministries. After retiring from politics, he joined the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) as its principal from 1997 to 2003. Ho’s ability to capture the essence of local scenery through the medium of oil on canvas has resulted in his works being widely collected by government departments and private collectors.

This lot is physically located in Singapore.
