Guim Tió Zarraluki - Modern & Contemporary Art: Online Auction, Hong Kong Hong Kong Tuesday, August 27, 2024 | Phillips
  • Born in 1987, Spanish artist Guim Tió Zarraluki explores the idiosyncratic interactions between humans and the environment through his practice. Featuring solitary figures enveloped in vast, undulating landscapes, the artist’s atmospheric works are imbued with a sense of tender tranquility.

The artist’s 2017 solo exhibition Unreal Space at YIRI ARTS, Taipei, marked a tonal shift in his oeuvre. Departing from a previously established style of composite portraiture that exposed the disjuncture between outward appearances and inner being, his focus shifted to portraying spaces of desire, solitude and introspection. The artist’s evocative paintings are a testament to his enduring curiosity towards the human condition.
