  • Catalogue Essay

Born in Turin, Italy, Frederica Tondato first pursued architecture and film before she began designing textiles. Each rug starts with a drawing, inspired by nature and driven by Tondato’s singular aesthetic. Interior designer Muriel Brandolini was one of the first to discover and promote her work, launching her career and often commissioning custom pieces for clients. Tondato has said that, “in [Brandolini’s] environment, my rugs become something different.” This rug, originally owned by Brandolini, is a testament to their creative partnership.
