    Interior with Guardians presents a familiar yet fantastical landscape to the viewer. Combining both urban and natural elements, this setting provides the viewer with a space to contemplate the meaning of the “Guardians” or symbols, which hover within an architectural framework. Influenced by visual motifs from mythology and everyday life, they relate to a diverse array of topics from ancestry to contemporary existence, freeing the imagination and allowing viewers to wander freely in this whimsical fictional realm.

    Emi Avora was born in Greece but completed her artistic training at Oxford University and Royal Academy Schools in the UK. She has a plethora of international exhibits to her name, having exhibited in renowned establishments such as the Whitechapel Gallery in London, the Greenberg Van Doren Gallery in New York and the National Museum of Contemporary Art in her native Athens.
