'Dini Nur Aghnia (b. 1995, Indonesia) looks to nature as her main source of creativity, capturing the evolving magnificence of the landscapes around her in each moment of the day from dawn to dusk.

Hills depicts a sunny day washing a view of hills in deep, textured greens and light-beige and brown earth. A clear blue sky gradually turns into a lighter shade of blue as it draws closer to the low-lying hill, making its outline more defined and vivid. The intricately coloured clay disks that fill the canvas invite the viewer to step closer and observe how the landscape is almost abstract with its hypnotic blend of colours and shapes. This impressionistic portrayal of a moment outdoors captures the ephemeral and ethereal aspects of nature, transforming the familiar into something that is continuously new and full of wonder.

Dini is drawn to the creative possibilities of synthetic clay in her artistic practice, and has become known for her fresh and contemporary expression of landscapes in this alternative medium. She is a recent graduate of the Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta, and has exhibited both locally and regionally in Yogyakarta, Solo, Gresik, Surabaya, Singapore and Malaysia.
