Good to Know
- Double dial, tourbillon, date and power reserve
- Oxidization on case demonstrates the fact that watch was not worn for a long time
- Accompanied by Daniel Roth Certificate of Origin and official Swiss Chronometrie Contrôle
Introduced in 1989 following the creation of his eponymous brand, Daniel Roth’s double-faced Tourbillon reference C187 was a bold statement of independence and design identity. Blending classical Breguet inspiration with his now-iconic ellipsocurvex case, guilloché dial, and sharply pointed hands, Roth established a distinctive aesthetic that would define modern independent watchmaking. T
The Daniel Roth reference C187 is probably one of the watchmaker's better-known creations. On the front side, taking center stage, is the large tourbillon escapement with an original triple arm seconds hand featuring three hands of different lengths that indicate the seconds on three different seconds registers, each calibrated for 20 seconds. The caseback features a retrograde power reserve and date indications.
The present example, number 89 features a yellow gold case that has delicately oxidised making it resemble pink gold adding not only an element of warmth but demonstrating the watch has not been worn for a very long time.
