Created in 1888 in the picturesque Swiss city of Lucerne, Bucherer started as a retailer of fine watches and jewelry and rapidly expanded within and outside of Switzerland. In the 20th century the retailer also sold watches under its own brand, simply signed Bucherer Lucerne.
