Abraham-Louis Breguet, without doubt, is one of the most brilliant watchmakers of the horological world. On 26th June 1801, his patent for the tourbillon, a brilliant solution to counter the effects of gravity on the accuracy of a watch, has changed watchmaking forever. The first examples of the complication appeared a few years later, and since then the tourbillon has remained, for more than two centuries, one of the most admired achievements in horology.

The Classique series is a tribute to Abraham-Louis Breguet, and the ref. 3577 Classique Tourbillon Chronograph beautifully celebrates one of the master watchmaker’s most celebrated complications. The tourbillon sits proudly at 12 o’clock, surrounded by a rich blend of guilloché patterns across the silvered dial—Clous de Paris, Vieux Panier and vagues—and paired with the brand’s iconic blued steel Breguet hands.

Beyond the tourbillon, this watch also features a chronograph with 30-minute and 12-hour counters—adding a useful layer of function without disrupting its elegance. Offered in excellent overall condition with a lovely pink gold coin-edged case and strong lugs, it is an elegant timepiece that showcases the timeless charm of the historic brand.

Breguet

Swiss | 1775

Established in 1775 by Abraham Louis Breguet, widely considered the greatest watchmaker of all time, the storied brand continues to thrive in the modern era, creating exceptional high-end watches as the Swatch Group's premier prestige brand. Some of the most important and lasting inventions in watchmaking are attributed to Abraham Louis Breguet, including the tourbillon, shock resistance and the use of hammers and gongs employed in nearly all minute repeating watches made since.

Eighteenth and nineteenth century Breguet pocketwatches are especially sought-after by collectors, and many of them were made for the elite of European society, including Napoléon and Marie Antoinette. Key wristwatches from the twentieth century include oversized dress watches, two-register chronographs, triple calendars and Type XX aviator's chronographs made for the French military and civilians.
