Fleurier

A “like-new" and unworn set of two limited edition pink gold wristwatches with Hong Kong Victoria Harbour cloisonné enamel dial, certificates and presentation box, numbered 6 of a limited edition of 10 sets, made to commemorate the handover of Hong Kong on 1st July 1997

This set of timepieces was created to commemorate the 1997 handover of Hong Kong to China. Each watch features a cloisonné enamel dial depicting a Chinese junk sailing across Victoria Harbour, with the city’s skyline shown by day and by night. The watches are housed in Bovet’s signature Fleurier case, instantly recognisable by its crown and bow positioned at twelve o’clock, inspired by nineteenth-century pocket watches.

Numbered six of a limited edition of ten sets, these two examples are presented in "like-new" and unworn condition and are accompanied by their full set of accessories.

Bovet

Swiss | 1822

The firm Bovet 1822 has a rich, centuries-long history beginning when Edouard Bovet sold four decorative pocket watches in Canton Asia for what would today equal $1 million. By 1822, Edouard, with his brothers, registered the company in London, which at the time was an important center for watches and clocks. That same year, they moved their manufacturing center to the Swiss municipality Fleurier. Bovet became known for their highly decorative pocket watches for the Chinese market. Their richly engraved movements were so important to the watch that Bovet created the concept of the transparent watch back so owners could see the beauty of the movement. Bovet's oversized chronograph wristwatches, such as the Mono Rattrapante chronograph, are especially sought-after. Today, the firm continues their tradition of exquisitely enameled watches.
