Catalogue Essay
Victoria Harbour, the beating heart of Hong Kong, is a stunning natural harbor separating Hong Kong Island from the Kowloon Peninsula. Renowned for its breathtaking skyline, the harbor is a global icon of urban beauty, framed by towering skyscrapers and the majestic Victoria Peak. By day, it's waters bustle with ferries, ships, and traditional junks, while at night, it transforms into a dazzling horizon of infinite lights. As a historic trade hub and cultural landmark, Victoria Harbour embodies Hong Kong’s vibrant spirit, blending East and West in a mesmerizing waterfront spectacle.

The present Ulysse Nardin Chronometer San Marco features a beautiful cloisonné enamel dial depicting the famous Harbour where the iconic Hong Kong Convention Centre can be recognized right away. Complemented by the red Dukling, the vessel was originally owned and manned by Chinese fishermen. It was typical junk which used to crisscross Hong Kong waterways. After sailing the waters and deep sea channels for more than 60 years and still operating today. A perfect celebration of the Hong Kong handover in 1997, 28 pieces in yellow gold of this model were produced. The present example is numbered 1 from the series and preserved in a private collection ever since it's launched.
