Audemars Piguet expanded its Code 11.59 collection in 2020 with the Flying Tourbillon Chronograph, a bold demonstration of the maison’s high-end watchmaking prowess. The present reference 26399 pairs two prestigious complications in a newly developed movement, underscoring both technical ambition and refined design.
Cased in 41 mm and crafted in 18k white gold, the timepiece retains the collection’s distinctive architecture: an octagonal central container that subtly echoes the Royal Oak, topped by a single-piece module incorporating the bezel and hollowed lugs.

What truly captivates is the fully skeletonized dial. There is a special allure to openworked watches that reveal the living architecture of the movement, and here the symmetry is particularly satisfying. Geometric patterns on the rhodium-toned and black galvanic bridges create perfect visual balance, framing the flying tourbillon at six o’clock with calm, architectural precision. T

At its heart lies the new Calibre 2952, an openworked self-winding movement featuring a flying tourbillon and a column-wheel flyback chronograph with a 65 hour power reserve. Released in a limited edition of only 50 pieces, the present watch is the third example to appear at auction and comes complete with its accessories.

Audemars Piguet

Swiss | 1881

A specialist in the manufacture of complications since it was established in 1881, Audemars Piguet never ceases to impress with a rich history of creating bold, even audacious, timepieces underpinned by traditional watchmaking at its finest. This Le Brassus-based Swiss manufacturer is one of only two major manufacturers still owned by the founding family. Since its earliest days, AP is considered a leader in the field of minute repeaters and grande complication pocket and wristwatches. The brand is devoted to preserving the history of watchmaking in the Vallée de Joux, showcased at their superb museum in Le Brassus.

Today, the brand is best known for its Royal Oak models, a revolutionary luxury sports watch launched in 1972. Other key models include early minute repeating wristwatches, vintage chronograph wristwatches, such as the oversized reference 5020, perpetual calendar watches and the Royal Oak Offshore, first introduced in 1993.
