  • Catalogue Essay

The IWC Big Pilot has been an icon since it was launched in the 1940s. Initially designed for pilots, the watch was cased in a 48 millimeter case for enhanced legibility. It was further fitted with an oversized crown for pilot's to wind their watch whilst still wearing gloves.

The present example is a modern reiteration housed in a 46 millimeter case with an attractive yellow on black dial. From a limited edition of 250 pieces, the present watch is also further presented in excellent condition with very minimal signs of wear.
