Zac Lee (b. 1968, Malaysia) is one of the most established fine artists in Malaysia, known for presenting incisive social commentary through sublime works in which abstract objects and forms are metaphors for individuals and the community. Twins features his trademark fluid brushstrokes and demonstrates Lee's deft application of his training in Chinese calligraphy and watercolour painting.

Lee developed his experimental approach during his residency at Three Shadows Art Center (Caochangdi) in Beijing, China in 2010, where he was the first Malaysian to be admitted into the programme. Lee incorporates contemporary techniques such as digital imaging into traditional ones, including silk-screening, photography and oil painting.

Lee’s work has been showcased in public and private galleries regionally and internationally including at the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre in 2010 and Tribes Gallery/Shalini Ganendra Fine Art (SGFA) in New York City in 2011 as well as at the 2005 Asian Art Festival in South Korea’s Sejong Art Center. Lee has also been awarded the Freeman Fellowship by the Vermont Studio Center in the United States.
