Historiques Toledo 1952
A fine and attractive platinum rectangular-shaped triple calendar wristwatch with moon phases and certificate
Full-Cataloguing
- Platinum example honoring the iconic 1950s “Cioccolatone”
- Most celebrated triple calendar variant by connoisseurs
The reference 47300 forms part of the Toledo 1952 heritage line, directly echoing the aesthetic of the iconic 1950s “Cioccolatone” timepieces, famed for their cushion-shaped cases and complete triple calendar with moon phases. Embracing clean lines and biomorphic forms, Vacheron Constantin crafted a distinct visual identity around this substantial, organic square case, characterized by rounded, stepped lugs, a stepped bezel and a subtle curvature inspired by the architectural heritage of Toledo, Spain.
While the model was also produced in pink, yellow and white gold with silvered dials, this modern interpretation pairs a substantial platinum case with a sophisticated slate grey dial. By combining a hefty, noble metal with a contemporary palette, Vacheron Constantin offers a fresh perspective while honoring the legendary vintage triple calendar wristwatches so revered by connoisseurs.
Vacheron Constantin

The Geneva-based manufacturer is known for their highly complicated masterpieces, including the King Farouk Grand Complication made in 1935, the Tour de l'Ile that was the most complicated serially produced wristwatch when introduced in 2005 and the 57260 — the world’s most complicated watch — made in 2015.
Key vintage models include minute repeating wristwatches such as the references 4261, chronographs such as the references 4178 and 6087 and the oversized Cioccolotone models such as ref. 4737. Collectors also appreciate Vacheron's Chronometer Royal pocket and wristwatches, as well as the '222,' the brand's first luxury sports watch produced from 1977 through 1984.
