Good to know:
- Slimmer version of the Type 1 from 2014
- Rotating and orbiting dial coated in ruthenium
- Grade 5 titanium case without a crown
- Founded by Benoît Mintiens and debuted in 2010, Ressence is a Belgium based watch brand that designs watches with an unconventional and innovative look. The watches are designed and developed in Belgium, while the production of the parts is mostly produced in Switzerland, and some from other neighbouring countries.
- The Type 1 Slim is an updated and slimmer version of the original Type 1 from 2014. The watch expresses Mintiens’ idea of a “hands free” timepiece. Instead of rotating hands for timekeeping, the watch features the in-house, patented Ressence Orbital Convex System (ROCS) module, which has a set of disks and rings working independently, spinning the main dial and three sub-dials to indicate hours, minutes, seconds, day of the week, and day and night. The movement is based on a modified ETA cal. 2824-2, providing stable running of the watch.
- Cased in Grade 5 titanium, the present watch does not have a crown. The winding and time setting mechanism are manipulated by the lever on the caseback. The whole profile is more smooth, and there is no need of worrying being left or right-handed. The whole watch delivers an innovative and futuristic appearance, showing the vision of Ressence in watchmaking in the 21st century.
