Full-Cataloguing
- Numbered 3 out of a limited edition of 3 pieces
- Grand feu enamel dial with peony miniature painting signed by Anita Porchet
- Ultra-thin Piaget cal. 430P movement
- In 1957, Piaget cemented its reputation as the pioneer of ultra-thin watchmaking with the groundbreaking Altiplano collection. Taking inspiration from the high-altitude Bolivian plateau, the slim, elegant and reliable Altiplano revolutionized the industry upon its release.
- As Piaget’s luxury ultra-thin dresswatch line, timepieces fitted with enamel dials in flower miniature paintings have been released under the Altiplano throughout the years. The present watch is an exceptionally rare limited edition wristwatch, in which only 3 were made, featuring a grand feu enamel dial with a peony miniature painting.
- At 6 o’clock of the dial, one can recognize the signature of Anita Porchet, one of Switzerland’s most respected and renowned enamellers who has been collaborating with Piaget since 2006. Blasted in high temperatures repeatedly, making a grand feu enamel requires years of experience, where a single mistake would compromise the dial and deem it useless. The pink peony presented at front contrasted by the blue background further brings out the depth of the flower. The lively shaded pedals of the beloved flower show Porchet’s talent as a skilled painter and enameller, a master artisan indeed.
- The bezel of the watch is decorated with 78 diamonds in total of 0.71ct. Encased in the slick 18K white gold case is the ultra-thin manual-wound cal. 430P movement, providing a 43-hour power reserve. The thin nature of the movement allows the watch to keep a slim profile.
- Offered in excellent condition with the original accessories, this timepiece is the perfect item for watch collectors who appreciate the fine artistry of enameling and fine Swiss watchmaking.
Piaget
Swiss | 1874Creativity, audacity and know-how are the values that gave Piaget its international reputation and allowed the brand to distinguish itself in the world of fine watchmaking and precision. Founder Georges Edouard Piaget established the company in 1874 and manufactured watch movements. While Piaget is famously recognized today for their elaborate wristwatch and bangle designs, they also mastered the marriage of their high-quality, in-house-produced wristwatches and stunning pieces of jewelry.
Collectors consider the 1970s as Piaget's era of superb creativity and unbounded designs. During this highly creative period, the brand designed an impressive range of cuff and bracelet watches carved in gold and adorned with exotic hard stones. Admired by most as not only jewelry but also true works of art, the firm's hard stone dial watches remain the most iconic, recognizable and desirable among collectors.
