- Tiger cloisonné enamel dial, one of a set of four

A perfect representation of Swiss artisanal handcraft and traditional fine watchmaking, the Patek Philippe cloisonné enamel timepieces are without doubt one of the most highly sought-after art pieces on the market. Only a handful master artisans can execute such delicate enamel dials, requiring the highest level of concentration and precision. Originally released in 2003 until its discontinuation in 2006, the ref. 5076 features an extent of intriguing enamel designs, mostly in series of four, depicting boats on the Leman lake, exotic fishes or Chinese zodiacs. During the 3-year production span, around 120 examples were made in total.

Encased in a robust platinum Gondolo case, the present watch is fitted with a cloisonné enamel dial depicting a tiger, enameled by master artisan France Tille. As a symbol of bravery, power, protection and many more, the tiger is often portrayed as an important figure in Asian folklore and culture. The tiger cloisonné enamel watches are a set of four, with the set consisting of two pairs of mirroring tigers, one of the pair features tigers staying dormant and facing each other, while the other pair stars two beasts roaring and moving in strong motions. In the present watch, the beast leaps forward with its claws fully extended and stretched out, and its large sharp fangs exposed in the fierce taunt. The present tiger shows the greatest motion of all four tiger watches, truly showing the mightiness of the apex predator of the jungle.

Still in its double-sealed condition with full accessories, the original owner has kept the watch in his collection since his purchase in 2008. It is a rare opportunity to acquire such remarkable and excellent cloisonné enamel timepiece.

Other famous models include perpetual calendars such as the ref. 1526, ref. 3448 and 3450, chronographs such as the reference 130, 530 and 1463, as well as reference 1436 and 1563 split seconds chronographs. Patek is also well-known for their classically styled, time-only "Calatrava" dress watches, and the "Nautilus," an iconic luxury sports watch first introduced in 1976 as the reference 3700 that is still in production today.
