Released in 2015, the Patek Philippe ref. 5370 split-seconds chronograph is considered by many as being one of the most exciting and desirable watches to have left the workshops of the famed Geneva based manufacture in recent years.
Initially featuring a black enamel dial, the fully in-house manufactured and finished caliber CHR 29-535 included a brand-new isolator that uncouples the split-seconds wheel from the chronograph wheel, thus eliminating friction. Furthermore, the brand developed an ingenious system allowing the chronograph and split-seconds hands to perfectly align upon resetting to zero. In 2020, the black enamel dial was discontinued, and the reference was relaunched with the intense cerulean blue dial of the present example. So rare is this timepiece that less than 10 examples with a blue dial to have come to the market.
Made in extremely low numbers, the ref. 5370 is a resolutely modern watch but with hints of vintage in its design. A proud heir to Patek Philippe’s prestigious chronographs of the past, the present reference is destined to become a future classic. Fresh-to-the-market, the present example is offered in like-new condition with its full set of accessories including the additional solid caseback, Certificate of Origin and presentation box.
