Coming off the popularity of 2021’s new arrival, the hobnail bezel Calatrava reference 6119, in 2025 Patek Philippe introduced a new Calatrava reference, time-only with small seconds in a platinum case with rose-gilt dial – the reference 6196P. Drawing inspiration from the much beloved 5196P, the 6196P remains a faithful successor to the noble Calatrava lineage, with the masculine downturned lugs, contrasting polished and brushed finishes, and faceted bezel – design cues that derive from a century ago and remain as relevant today.
The in-house caliber 30-255 PS boasts a power reserve of 65-hours and is the first time Patek Philippe incorporated twin barrels in a time-only movement, resulting in gracefully shaped bridges that are visible through the sapphire crystal caseback.
The rose-gilt “salmon” dial, paired with blackened white gold obus-style baton indexes exudes a potent combination of contemporary elegance and vintage design. In virtually new, unworn condition and from the collection of the original owner, an esteemed collector across a diverse range of timepieces, the present 6196P comes with all its original accessories.
