Catalogue Essay
• The Patek Philippe Calatrava Ref. 6000G is a bold reinterpretation of a design lineage that began with the Ref. 5000 in 1991. Known for its off-centre seconds sub-dial and Bauhaus-inspired layout, the series evolved through the Ref. 6000 in 2005, which introduced a radial date display and a larger case. The 6000G, launched in 2017, modernizes this aesthetic with a 39mm white gold case and a richly detailed dial.

• The dial is a masterclass in layered textures and visual complexity. It features a sunburst anthracite centre, a silvered minute track with guilloché detailing, and concentric patterns on the seconds sub-dial. The radial date ring adds depth, while bold Arabic numerals and skeletonized hands enhance legibility. A red bracket-style pointer offers a more precise and distinct touch.

• Inside, the watch is powered by the Calibre 240 PS C, a micro-rotor movement renowned for its slim profile and refined finishing. It includes modern innovations like the Spiromax balance spring and Gyromax balance, delivering a 48-hour power reserve and exceptional timekeeping accuracy. The movement is visible through a sapphire case back, showcasing Geneva stripes and meticulous hand-finishing.

• While the 6000G maintains Patek Philippe’s high standards of craftsmanship, its unconventional dial layout stands out for its distinctive design and technical finesse.

• In essence, the Ref. 6000 is a compelling fusion of heritage and innovation. The present timepiece, offered in excellent condition by its original owner, comes complete with its full set of accessories. Most notably, this example bears the highly coveted double signature of Tiffany & Co., prominently stamped above 6 o’clock on the dial. This rare co-branding not only signifies its origin from the legendary New York retailer but also elevates its collectability to an entirely different level. Watches with the Tiffany stamp are among the most sought-after in the industry, often regarded as the crown jewel in world-class collections. This is a rare opportunity for discerning collectors to acquire a uniquely distinguished and contemporary expression of Patek Philippe’s timeless elegance.
