Catalogue Essay
- Officially released in 2022, the Patek Philippe reference 5526 represents the latest addition in the Calatrava family. Showcasing modern and refreshed aesthetics the timepiece is equipped with syringe hands, applied Arabic numerals, a lacquered charcoal grey dial with a textured finish, and beige lume.

- Turning the watch sideways, on the caseband, one can notice a sublimely finished and quintessentially traditional clous de Paris hobnail decoration, an interesting and well appreciated element. Defined as a "highly contemporary watch with a vintage style", as Patek goes on to describe it, the textured dial features a gradient black minute track that seamlessly contrasts with the beige filled applied Arabic numerals and syringe hands, giving a typical tool watch attire to the timepiece.

- Cased at 40mm in diameter, the Patek Philippe reference 5526 is powered by the self-winding caliber 26-330 S C, a caliber that in 2019 famously replaced the 324 found in Nautilus reference 5711.

- Preserved in excellent overall condition, the present Patek Philippe 5526G-001 is further accompanied by its certificate of origin, additional strap and presentation box.

For collectors, key models include the reference 1518, the world's first serially produced perpetual calendar chronograph, and its successor, the reference 2499. Other famous models include perpetual calendars such as the ref. 1526, ref. 3448 and 3450, chronographs such as the reference 130, 530 and 1463, as well as reference 1436 and 1563 split seconds chronographs. Patek is also well-known for their classically styled, time-only "Calatrava" dress watches, and the "Nautilus," an iconic luxury sports watch first introduced in 1976 as the reference 3700 that is still in production today.
