- The Calatrava collection has always stood as a classic symbol of timeless design from Patek Philippe and is heralded by collectors across different generations as a favourite for its subtle beauty and elegance.
- The reference 3802 was introduced in 1983 and bears the traditional elements found also on its predecessors. It is adorned by the well-regarded motif of Clous de Paris bezel first found on the reference 96D from 1934.
- Simplicity might be difficult to achieve, but this watch is a marvellous execution of combining a delicious cream dial with the graceful guilloché hobnail bezel, applied hour markers and dauphine hands in pink gold. Paired with its good looks, it is complemented with an automatic cal. 310SC with date indication and center seconds, indicating that it is from the first series.
- The present example is preserved in excellent condition, and it is accompanied with a Patek Philippe service invoice dated 21st August 2023, and is originally owned by the distinguished watch collector Mark Cho. To the best of our knowledge, it is one of 25 examples of reference 3802/200 to have appeared publicly in auction to date, and one of only 6 examples from the first series with the rare dial configuration of baton indexes and gold hand for the seconds. This might just be the perfect watch for those seeking for a classic timepiece to own and wear on any occasion.
