Catalogue Essay
- Celebrating the Geneva Watchmaking Guild since 1601, Blancpain released the limited edition Villeret Jubilee Perpetual Calendar to commemorate their achievement.
- An elegant symmetrical design, the Villeret Jubilee Perpetual Calendar reference 6056 is in 18K pink gold. Complemented with a stepped bezel and matching metal for all the applied indexes and hands, the dial is dressed in a soft and warm white tone that is extremely graceful.
- Taking a closer look on the dial, one would notice a small Latin inscription sitting right above the leap year indication. “Dignus Est Intrare” meaning “He is worth to enter”, it is the words spoken when the watchmaker gained their acceptance into the Geneva Watchmaking Guild. A subtle nod to perseverance and dedication, it adds extra weight to a rather small timepiece.
- Comprised of 297 individual parts, the Blancpain Villeret Jubilee Perpetual Calendar is powered by the self-winding calibre 5653 with a thickness of 4.45mm and a power reserve of 100 hours.
- Kept untouched in a “new-old-stock” condition by its original owner for twenty years, the present Blancpain brings back the good old days with elegance and sophistication. Please note that the proceeds of the sale of the present watch will be given by the Consignor to various charities.

Blancpain
Swiss | 1735As the watchmaking brand with the earliest founding date, Blancpain remains close to tradition, concentrating on classical mechanical watches. Established in 1735 by Jehan-Jacques Blancpain, the Le Brassus manufacturer today continues to innovate with the development of high-quality calibres and is proud of their heritage, having never made quartz watches. One of the firm's greatest successes was the Fifty Fathom wristwatch introduced in 1953 — the vintage models of which are now highly coveted by collectors. The earliest dive watch available to the market, Fifty Fathom came out a year prior to Rolex's Submariner. Another key model is the Air Command from the 1960s, considered one of the most mythical collector's watches due to their extreme rarity. Today, the firm specializes in creative innovated complicated timepieces.
