In 2017, Porsche Club of America and Omega released a new limited edition “Grey Side of the Moon” Speedmaster celebrating the fine art of watch and car manufacturing. The collaboration was an ideal pairing given the attention to detail and precision quality both firms produce, and while the Speedmaster is now an icon and most recognized for its trip to the moon, Omegas early chronograph watches were for precision timing at the track. The brand first released the “Grey Side of the Moon” timepiece in 2014 and it was a manufacturing marvel made from ceramic sporting a platinum dial. The watch was masculine, robust and durable and the perfect complement for the PCA limited edition chronograph.

The Porsche Club of America is the single largest brand club in the world with over 100,000 members. The 2017 “Grey Side of the Moon” uses the same 9300 caliber as the 2014 edition, however the watch is enhanced with yellow accents to the hands, the constant seconds hand, and the wording “Speedmaster” on the dial and “tachymetre” on the bezel, along with the yellow stitching on the leather strap. The grey and yellow combination brings to mind Porsche’s brake discs made from grey ceramic and yellow calipers. The dial is ceramised titanium and is marked “Ti” above the center post. The watch is further enhanced with the club’s logo in yellow transferred to the sapphire crystal display back. Originally only available from the club’s website, the present watch is number 67 of 99 examples and is in excellent overall condition and complete with box and guarantee.
