• The Naoya Hida & Co. NH Type 2C-1 “Lettercutter” is a refined and limited-edition wristwatch that showcases the brand’s dedication to traditional Japanese craftsmanship and understated elegance. Created in collaboration with The Armoury, a menswear brand based in Hong Kong, the watch features a durable stainless steel case which gives a warm sheen. The dial is crafted from German silver and displays hand-engraved Arabic numerals using The Armoury’s custom “Lettercutter” font, which draws inspiration from stone carving and adds a bold, sculptural character to the dial. These numerals are filled with navy blue Cashew lacquer, which subtly shifts in tone depending on the light, enhancing the visual depth of the dial.

• The movement inside is the NH Cal. 3020CS, a hand-wound calibre based on a modified Valjoux 7750, offering central seconds and a 45-hour power reserve. It includes a redesigned click mechanism for smoother winding. The hands are hand-polished, with a heat-blued steel seconds hand featuring a bent tip for precise alignment. Completing the watch is a hand-stitched leather strap, chosen to complement the dial’s tones. With only 20 pieces produced between 2022 and 2023 and sold exclusively through The Armoury, the NH Type 2C-1 “Lettercutter” stands as a rare and thoughtful expression of horological artistry, combining Japanese precision with a distinctive typographic identity.
