Catalogue Essay
In celebration of the esteemed Watch Art Grand Exhibition Tokyo 2023, Patek Philippe introduced a highly exclusive limited edition series in late 2022, crafted exclusively for the Japanese market. This elegant duo of Calatrava timepieces—ref. 6127G-010 and ref. 7127G-010—pays tribute to the cherished East Asian tradition of “pair watches”, symbolizing harmony and connection.

Exquisitely designed to reflect the essence of Japanese sophistication, the models debut a newly conceived Calatrava case featuring gracefully beveled, two-tier lugs. These lugs evoke the delicate outline of butterfly wings, subtly echoing the celebrated silhouette of the ref. 5270. Each movement is beautifully hand-finished with meticulous attention to detail, while the solid white gold casebacks are engraved with the inscription “Patek Philippe – Tokyo”, marking their exclusive dedication to Japan.

Strictly limited to just 400 pieces, the edition comprises 300 paired sets presented in an opulent double presentation box, and 100 individual pieces—split evenly between the men’s and ladies’ models. The present offering includes the complete matched pair in “like-new” condition, accompanied by their full set of accessories—a rare opportunity to own a distinguished set of these exceptional timepieces.

Other famous models include perpetual calendars such as the ref. 1526, ref. 3448 and 3450, chronographs such as the reference 130, 530 and 1463, as well as reference 1436 and 1563 split seconds chronographs. Patek is also well-known for their classically styled, time-only "Calatrava" dress watches, and the "Nautilus," an iconic luxury sports watch first introduced in 1976 as the reference 3700 that is still in production today.
