The present Backpage Blue challenges conventional watch architecture with its unique mirrored construction of the movement. What is typically concealed at the back of a watch is proudly displayed on the blue semi-skeletonized dial. In true Glashütte tradition, the stunning aesthetics of the mechanical movement reveal exquisite details such as the Grossmann balance, the hand-graved balance cock adorned with intricate floral motifs, and the ratchet wheel featuring beautiful snailing, prominently positioned on the left side of the dial. When wound, the oscillating balance wheel's mechanical splendor captivates all who behold it.
This remarkable dial display is made possible by the in-house manual calibre 107.0, which features a reversal of direction in the mainspring barrel and the gear train. The wheel train operates in the correct direction, aided by the mirrored escapement and the mirrored oscillation system. Both the front and back of the Backpage Blue showcase a full German silver plate coated in a thin layer of blue metal oxide, complete with wide Glashütte ribbings, raised gold chatons, and signature transparent sapphire jewels. The iconic Grossmann winder, equipped with a pusher and stop seconds, further enhances its functionality.
Numbered 10 of a limited series of just 13 pieces, this timepiece is offered in virtually unworn condition and comes complete with its full set of original accessories.
