  • Catalogue Essay

    - Conceived from the whimsical imagination of Max Büsser, MB&F founder and long time connoisseur of everything Star Wars related, Melchior embodies the loyal, resourceful and brave robot that any child would cherish as their closest friend.

    - Engineered and crafted by L’Epée 1839 – Melchior is not only an impressive robot-friend but also, and more importantly, a specialised high-end clock featuring jumping hours, sweeping minutes, double retrograde seconds and a 40-day power reserve. Proudly boasting a mechanical head and articulated arms, with the right one packing a rocket launcher and the left a Gatling gun, Büsser originally developed the concept with designer Xin Wang.

    - Melchior's charming personality is accentuated by a combination of fixed vents and rotating discs that create the illusion of blinking eyes. Adding to the animated character, the regulator, visible through a polished glass dome cover, symbolizes Melchior's working "brain." Much like the brain governs the body, the regulator governs the clock's remarkable precision, providing a captivating and intricate timekeeping experience.

    - Preserved in excellent condition, Melchior is further accompanied by undated Guarantee and presentation box.
