Catalogue Essay
- The Tambour collection by Louis Vuitton debuted amongst the world of watchmaking in 2002 with its first automatic chronograph movement. The name "Tambour" draws inspiration from the drum-like shape of watch barrels, early 16th-century miniature watches, and the rhythmic "heartbeat" drums of Japan's Kodo troupe. The iconic case design stands out with its rounded form, and the clever use of the brand's 12 letters engraved on the caseband aligning to the hours.

- Sized at 41.5mm diameter and cased in stainless steel, the present first generation Tambour LV277 features a subtle grey-brown dial with yellow accents that has a cool sports appeal.

- The heart of the watch lies the iconic Zenith El Primero chronometer-certified high-frequency chronograph which displays fifths of a second, the calibre LV277. A nice finishing touch on top of the aesthetically appealing movement, the rotor also features the brand logo.

- Presented in excellent overall condition, this striking timepiece delivers a refreshing splash of colour and stands as a captivating addition to any collection. It traces its origins to the early days of Louis Vuitton's ever-expanding world of watchmaking, capturing the maison's bold entry into haute horlogerie.
